Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques to cook at home in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for managing restaurants when she received the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic location to learn. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. This will have a significant impact on how Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children living with challenges. She is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to talk about her love of food as well as her career in the culinary field.
