Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born on May 3rd, 1986. She was trained at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris and has appeared in films like Loup (2009), Sleepless Night (2011) and Hacker's Game (2015). She is the Mantis character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was the child of a Korean mother and a father who was French-Russian. Her father was a consul in Quebec City, Canada. Eugene Klementieff, a painter was her grandfather. Pom was her name because it sounds similar to the Korean words "spring" and "tiger" in Korean. Klementieff spent one year in Canada prior to moving her family frequently due to her father's work. After the move to France the family lived in Japan. Her father, who passed away in the age of five from cancer, was her mother. Additionally, she suffered from schizophrenia and couldn't care for her children. Klementieff was raised with her aunt and paternal uncle. Her uncle, whom she described in her own words as "like her father from childhood," died on Klementieff’s 18th birthday. Her brother, who was younger, died seven years after his death. This time, it was on her birthday, which was on the 25th. Klementieff was able to study law following the death of her uncle, but she didn't find the career choice attractive. In France she was employed as a salesperson and waitress. At the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris the actress began her journey into acting when she was 19. After her studies were completed she was selected for an audition in theater that gave her two years of tuition for free along with the most renowned teachers at the school. Klementieff was the first actor to play professionally in the independent French film Apres lui (2007). She played the step-daughter of the protagonist, Catherine Deneuve. The production of the film took three days. One scene had Klementieff pushing someone down a set steps, but she fell. Gael Morel saved that shot for the final film. Loup (2009), an French film that focuses on the Siberian reindeer herders was her first significant role. While filming, Klementieff was in a tent, a long way from the nearest village, where temperatures dropped well below zero.
