Tauheed Epps (also known as 2 Chainz), is an American hip hop and rapper artist. Georgia native, Epps began his musical career when he along with a friend from high school created the hip-hop group Playaz Circle. Their first album, 'Supply & Demand was an average success. Epps later released "Based on the T.R.U." Story', his debut studio album. It was a huge hit, and debuted at the top of the charts at one on the US Billboard 200. Within its first week, it was sold out in 147,000 copies! Since the release of this album, there has been no looking back for his career and he has risen to be one of the finest hip-hop artists in the US. He has been honored with six Grammy awards, and has won one for his song "No Problem". In 2013, he sparked controversy after he was found with promethazine and marijuana on the flight departing from Los Angeles International Airport. The incident didn't hinder his popularity. The fourth and newest studio album 'Pretty Girls Like Trap Music' was released in June of 2017. "Based on an R.U. Story, 2 Chainz's first studio album is both his first major release and also his biggest commercially successful. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200. It also sold 147,000 copies within a single week. Over the course of the year, it sold 623,000 copies. The album, with songs that were a hit, including "No Lie" and 'Birthday Song' and I'm Different', was nominated as the 'Best Rap Album', at the 55th Grammy Awards. The reviews were mixed. 2 Chainz married Kesha Warren in 2013. The couple has three kids: Heaven, Harmony and Halo. Despite a successful professional career, he is also notorious for his brushes with the law. Numerous times, he's been detained for possession of drugs.
